Invisalign® For Teens

Invisalign® Services

Invisalign is an excellent way to straighten teeth. Patients of all ages often prefer it over traditional metal braces. To improve the appearance of your smile, contact us to schedule a consultation with our Invisalign experts to see if this is the right option for you.

How Does Invisalign Work?

Invisalign straightens teeth using a series of aligners. An impression of your teeth is made, from which a series of aligners is created in a dental lab. The aligners are made from a thermoplastic material, strong yet flexible so they’re comfortable when worn for long periods of time. The material is virtually invisible.

The aligners are worn for 22 hours a day. Every two weeks aligners are switched out with the next set in the series. Over a period of months, the aligners gradually move teeth into proper position, making one minor adjustment at a time targeted to specific teeth. This helps your teeth remain comfortable as they are moved into the correct position at a manageable pace. Once complete with your series of aligners, your teeth should be perfectly straight.

Benefits of Invisalign

  • Aligners are clear so no one can tell you are straightening your teeth.
  • They are taken out for eating, you can take them out for a social outing, or making an important presentation at work.
  • Teeth can be brushed and flossed like normal. No special tools are required.
  • Less risk that your teeth will become stained (traditional braces are hard to clean around).
  • No fear of food getting stuck on your teeth or a wire being pulled out.
  • The process is more comfortable than metal braces.
  • Aligners are easy to take care of, and you only use the same aligner for a couple of weeks.

Basic Invisalign Information

For most patients, the procedure takes around twelve months. The exact time frame will depend on your own situation, and only our Invisalign dentists can tell you how long they will need to be worn. Overall, the treatment time is less than with metal braces, in part because you don’t have to schedule frequent appointments to keep your teeth moving. Simply pull out a new aligner.

Caring for your aligners is as simple as rinsing them with warm water daily. A soft brush (such as a toothbrush) can also be used to get off any excess debris.

Some people are concerned about whether or not wearing an aligner will impact their speech. Most of our patients report that within a couple of days to a week they are able to speak normally.

Not all dentists can offer Invisalign®. It requires special training. Our dentists are a premier provider of Invisalign®. To learn if the procedure is right for you, schedule an appointment for a Free Consultation today.
